Admissions
British International University gives financial and academic credit for high school transfer credits. We accept full and half credits, which means you can transfer a partial year of high school. The maximum is 17 credits @ $60 each, for a total possible tuition savings of $1020. To receive transfer credits, you must submit an official transcript from an accredited institution or homeschool portfolio for evaluation. Prompt receipt of student transcripts allows us to finalize your program in a timely manner.
To transfer credits from another high school, send a High School Transcript Request Form to your school or board of education to ensure your official transcript is submitted in a timely manner. Your school must fax or mail the transcript to us at the following address:
Registrar, British International University, 7351 Wiles RD, Suite 201, Coral Springs, Florida, 33067 . Fax: 1-000-000-0000.
If you are homeschooled, please submit a complete portfolio of your work and/or proper documentation. You must include the Home School Form with your portfolio. We offer testing for students who cannot provide a homeschool portfolio. NOTE: Passing the test will allow you to continue your high school education at BIU, but you will not receive credit toward your diploma for passing the test.
All you need to get started is a computer with access to the Internet and Microsoft Office software. Once you enroll, you’ll receive access to our exclusive online learning system to immediately begin your first course. All students begin with an online Orientation.
If you requested optional printed textbooks, they will be shipped to you within 24 hours of enrollment. You should expect your materials to arrive by the U.S. postal service or international airmail if you live abroad.
Program Overview
There is no requirement to pursue a full diploma program. We offer more than 30 individual online high school courses for single purchase. Our summer school students, in particular, find this option appealing for credit recovery. However, many students choose to enroll in single-purchase courses for a variety of reasons:
-
To get ahead in their studies
-
To take courses that are unavailable in their regular school curriculum
-
To challenge themselves with an honors or dual credit course
-
To make up for missed classes
-
To gain experience with online learning
